After
a month or two of filming clouds, my ski days completely changed.
Cloud cover and wind speed began to become at least as important
to me as how much it had snowed. On some days, the sky is totally
uninteresting, on others it can be unbelievable. I shot most of
my best timelapses in the 2002/2003 season. That year it seemed
like every time I went skiing there would be some crazy cloud
formation whipping through the sky enticing me to stop skiing
and film. In 2004, I skied the same number of days but barely
filmed any clouds, there was seldom that much going on in the
sky despite the good snow year.
I
shot this clip in 2003 up in East Castle with the camera pointed
north.
